Blanca Angueyra was born in Key West in 1875, but as a new born baby, accompanied her parents when they emigrated to Colombia that year. She married Ernesto Vivian Duperly, who was born in 1871, in Jamaica, West Indies, the son of Henry Duperly and Eulalia Coll. In his youth, Ernesto enlisted in the merchant navy and saw much of the world.
Blanca and Ernesto had ten children, Hilda, Eduardo, Guillermo, Enrique, Oswaldo, Carlos, Isabel, Constance, Edna, and Ernesto Duperly. Ernesto, the father, died in 1934, and Blanca in 1935.
